BLACK and green tea drinkers
reduce the risk of cancer by 50%, according to a study
in Shanghai. The kinds of cancer most influenced by tea are
stomach cancer, digestion and bladder cancer.
A STUDY conducted in Japan (with 9000 female
participants) showed that women who drank less than 5 cups of
tea daily were doubly prone to fatal strokes.
TREATMENT of asthma,
colds and symphonic infections have been attributed to tea
as well as the benefits it has pertaining to the digestive system,
nervous system, muscle relaxation, blood vessels, heart functions,
blood pressure, and generally to vivacity and energy.
A FEW cups of tea a day
could keep cataract away, claims a new Indian research.
TEA contain antioxidants
called polyphenols. Antioxidants are components which
help to protect cells from harmful "free radicals", known as
oxidants. Free radicals occur naturally in the body as a by-product
of the respiration process and can bring about cell damage.
Polyphenols help to prevent this cell damage,
which can contribute to aging and a number of chronic diseases,
including cancer and heart disease and strokes.
Preliminary research published in the American
Journal of Clinical Nutrition suggests that an extract
from green tea may help with weight loss by speeding
up fat oxidation. In this study, researchers conducted a 6 week
study of 10 healthy men in their 20's and found that those men
who were given a green tea extract used more calories in a day
than those who did not.
